about

this is the third installment of rain & sample drops. this time around, i decided to theme it around 2 major themes: (1) acoustic sounds and (2) my mother. i thus chose acoustic versions and covers of the pop songs that my mother introduced me to. she is one of the main reasons of my love for music.

sample-wise, i ended up choosing a lot of covers, mainly because acoustic versions of the songs were unavailable. i also went with some live tracks, which introduced the element of background noise and adlibs being caught within the sample.

i also wanted the songs to be recognizable, so i transposed a lot of the main melodies of the songs.
